The Villa has a peaceful and restful atmosphere, possibly due its religious history. It is set in Donje Obuljeno, a quiet suburb of Old Mokosica, occupied mainly by Croatians, with very few tourists in evidence. We would describe the area as "rustic". All of the neighbours are very friendly - some own their property as a holiday home, so a few properties are not occupied all the year around. Part of the property comprises on an old family chapel, which is now used as a dining room with an amazing atmosphere. Outside there is a Renaissance style restored garden with its own natural well. It is 2 miles from the ACI Marina where there are excellent restaurants and a good supermarket. The Old City of Dubrovnik is 8 miles from the Villa, with the Port Town of Gruz 4 miles distant. The Old City is a major tourist attraction, as it has a Venetian atmosphere, with a large range of restaurants and bars and excellent cultural activities including concerts.
