If you are after a quiet holiday break near the seaside, off the beaten track, away from the crowds and the tourists in a sparsely built area, then look no further.
There is no noise here, no cars passing by, no pollution. The view is magnificent and unobstructed. From the house's veranda, you can sit and stir at the first Cycladic islands for hours on end, literally recharging yourself for everything that draws your energy every day.
To the right side, you see the island of Makronissos. To the left, you can see clearly the island of Evia, the island of Stira and the tiny islands of Petalious. The port of Rafina where ferries depart daily for Andros, Tinos, Mykonos, Paros and Naxos can be reached in 30 minutes’ drive. Athens International Airport is 50 minutes’ drive (via Attica avenue-Toll fees apply). Athens city center is less than an hour’s drive. Someone from the family will be delighted to either wait for you to arrive or arrange with a family member to welcome you and show you the house.
The house itself is excellent. About 120 sq. m. in total; the sea is just under the small road that passes outside the house. There is a small pebbly beach where you can go and swim. The waters are crystal clear and there is plenty of fishing for those interested. It never gets crowded here, not even in June-September where it is supposed to be the busy season.
You can access the house either from outside through the stairs or through the private garage (you can park your car here) where there is an elevator that takes you directly to the entrance of the first floor.
The house is split into two levels: the first floor and the ground floor. On the first floor, at the house's exterior veranda you will find a sitting area, a table with chairs and a hanging couch bell for one person. You will also find one fully equipped kitchen, a dining table, and the living room. There are two bedrooms; one double and one double twin. There is also a bathroom with bathtub.
An internal staircase connects the first floor with the basement. Here you will find the third bedroom with two single beds, a bathroom with shower and a living room that connects to the garden. You and your children can enjoy the garden area; you will find a sitting area, a barbeque, and toys for the children. The view of the sea is equally nice from the garden. You will be less than 2 minutes’ walk from the sea water.
The house is air-conditioned and also comes with heating. There is TV and Wi-Fi. The closest grocery store is 2-3 minutes’ walk from the house; the grocery store also makes breakfast and you can arrange delivery to the house.
For more serious shoppers, you can drive to the closest supermarket and shops in 15 minutes, you will find them at Marathon’s avenue.
The house will be delivered to you cleaned by a professional, and will be equipped with plenty of fresh bed linen and towels to use during your stay.
If you choose Athens as your destination anytime from Spring to Autumn, this house in Marathon is a great choice for those wishing to avoid a suburban stay with all the usual drawbacks and choose a place with great views not far away from major points of interest and with plenty to explore.
