Villa Kelebek has 3 bedrooms; one family room with king size bed and en-suite bathroom, another large bedroom with a king size bed and a smaller bedroom with 2 single beds. There is a cot for babies. The second and third bedrooms share a bathroom on the landing. The third bathroom is downstairs. All have a shower, basin, toilet and bidet. Each bedroom opens onto a balcony, complete with table and chairs and beautiful views of the mountains. The villa sleeps 6 comfortably. Towels and bedding are provided. However, pool towels are not provied. Downstairs there is a spacious hallway, lounge and kitchen diner. Each room downstairs opens onto a veranda, the pool and garden. The lounge has a DVD player with a selection of films for your entertainment and a TV. There is a CD player with a variety of music for you to enjoy. There are board games for children and adults. WiFi is also available. The kitchen has a gas/electric cooker, microwave, an American style fridge-freezer, a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The kitchen also has a full range of crockery and cutlery. All rooms in the villa have air conditioning/heating.
On arrival there will be a friendly face to meet and greet you whatever time your flight arrives and a welcome pack.
The garden has an upper and lower terrace, The upper terrace has a private pool surrounded with sunloungers, parasols and table and chairs. (Pool towels are not provided). The main downstairs veranda, leading to the pool, has a table and chairs for 6 people to eat al fresco and a rattan 3 piece suite for relaxation. There is a metal gate here to stop little ones getting too near the pool. The garden and pool are maintained daily. The garden has perimeter lighting and a brick BBQ. The balconies and verandas are perfect places to watch the sun setting over the Boncuk Mountains and to admire the myriad of pine forests.
The village of Uzumlu is a 5 minute stroll from the villa and has numerous family run restaurants and takeaways, a list of these places you will find in the villa. There is also an internet cafe, post office, bakery, barbers shop and small supermarkets, where inexpensive locally produced wine is sold. There are no banks in the village, but there is an ATM and many places accept credit cards. Uzumlu is a charming, typically Turkish village and many of the local women wear local dress, have looms in their homes, often weaving beautiful scarves and shawls. The Friday Market sells local produce with all the fruit and vegetables being seasonal only. Not far from Villa Kelebek is the ancient city of Cadianda and the start of the Lycian Way, considered to be one of the worlds 10 best walks.
Fethiye, the nearest large town, is 9 miles away and can be reached by bus, the dolmus, which leaves from the square hourly (times can vary) and takes about 20 minutes. There are bigger supermarkets here, such as Migros, BIM and Carrefour. If you wish to stock up on groceries for your visit, a shopping trip can be arranged to fit in with your arrival. There is a large open air market on a Tuesday and lots of interesting small shops in the town, including a fish market in the centre. Whilst in Fethiye the Lycian Rock Tombs and the Fethiye Roman Ampitheatre are well worth a visit. Day trips often leave from Fethiye to places such as Dalyan (the turtle beach), Caunos Caves, the mud baths, Saklikent Canyon and boat trips along the beautiful Turquoise Coast. Whilst walking along the promenade you may be priveledged and spot turtles swimming close to the boats, hoping to catch some food. This tree lined promenade is great for children as there are numerous play areas and lots of opportunities for drinks and ice creams! The nearest beaches are Calis, 9 miles from Uzumlu, Olu Deniz, 14 miles and Patara, which is less than an hours drive.
The ski resort of Seki is 45 miles from Fethiye. Information regarding skiing and other facts about Turkey can be found on the bookcase in the villa or on request.
Your arrival airport is Dalaman, 37 miles from Uzumlu. Cars can be hired from here, Fethiye or Uzumlu. Airport transfers, if required, can be arranged.
Villa Kelebek is the ideal place for peace and tranquility. A wonderful place for relaxation in the beautiful sunshine whilst the children play in the pool. (Keep your eyes open for wild tortoises popping into the garden).
