Follow the remote roads north to the popular restaurant ‘Martin Pescador' in the village of Trget (8km) where you can enjoy fresh fish on the waterfront, or head the other way to find a pretty pebbly beach or hire a boat for beautiful vistas and even a spot of fishing. This area is perfect for hiking through the dense pine forests or there are some wonderful walking paths near the towns of Labin and Rabac.
You will find all the facilities you may need in the charming town of Labin (12km), a charming hilltop town with a rich history. Just a short drive from Labin is the larger beach resort of Rabac (16km), now a delightful spot for visitors to experience pristine white pebbled beaches, a great range of watersports and some excellent local cuisine.

The town has pristine pebble beaches, such as Girandella plus a great choice of watersports from windsurfing, diving, water-ski to banana boats. If you visit in June head down to the Rabac Summer Carnival when the town comes alive with festivities. Should you wish to escape the summer crowds there are plenty of opportunities to head inland to explore the natural beauty and wildlife of this area and many hiking paths such as a walk through the pine forests from Rabac to Labin.
Island lovers may want to take an excursion across to the rugged island of Cres where you can truly get off the beaten track and discover the quiet and simple side to island life on one of the country's least developed islands. If you prefer city life then Rijeka (75km) is worthy of a visit with its fascinating history, excellent restaurants and lively nightlife.
