We have created a boutique house on the stunning island of Kefalonia, in the quiet hamlet of Batzukata, a short distance away from elegant resort of Fiscardo. Our vision has always been to restore one of the many ruins that litter the landscape on the island and in 2006 we found the perfect spot. We started with the shell of a 400 year old property that had been left to decay since the devastating 1953 earthquake and have practically had to rebuild it from the ground up. All of the stonework in the old part of the house is original and our architect is from the old school, wanting to retain any of the original features that were still remaining - one of the bathrooms still contains the old domed stone bread oven.
