Quito’s colonial city center is a UNESCO world heritage site and you should definitely not miss exploring it while you are in Ecuador. Afraid of noise, smog and tiny spaces? Don’t. Our Garden Suites offer an amazing combination:You are located right in the colonial town with vibrating Calle La Ronda and all its gastronomic offers just around the corner. You have a newly renovated and well designed flat that caters to all modern standards. You are inside a private, 15000 sqft compound and you hardly hear any cars. A light wind from the Panecillo hill above you provides fresh mountain air and you sit outside, surrounded by lush gardens and enjoy the sunny Ecuadorian climate. The compound is located on historical “Calle Loja” which is mentioned since the time of the Incas. Towards the street we conserve impressive, 400 year old adobe walls, the main building dates back to 1904 and was used as suburban residence of a wealthy family. The condoWhen we bought the house it was falling to pieces, but we instantly loved the location with its views of churches and mountain and with the Panecillo Virgin statue looking down on us. It took us three years to carefully renovate the place. We created seven independent units in a Mediterranean style, without losing the colonial charm of the place. The suites have all modern appliances and are built the ecological way. We recycled old materials, used non-toxic substances and reduce our impact by a sustainable management of energy and waste-water. We use the flats for ourselves, for our visitors and some are rent long-term to non-profit organization experts, writers and international businessmen. Every Suite has its private entrance and a terrace overlooking the garden and the Panecillo statue up the hill. Some Suites are Loft style, others haver separate rooms for living, sleeping and kitchen. The luxury Suite has two levels, with the bedroom located upstairs and a panorama window providing a long distance view over the colonial city and out to the Pichincha volcano. The design of the areas gives you the chance to interact with the other people in our compound, or to stay private. You can use an ample green area as well as a pergola with hammocks and a BBQ. If you bring your friends or children you might want to rent a second Suite. Please ask for availability. Getting there and awayQuito’s eco-bus TROLE stops right at the corner and the cheap taxi service get you to the modern city in 15 and to the airport in 25 minutes.
